This is a recipe I tried last night, it was super easy and fast! You could also feel free to alter this pizza with any other toppings you might enjoy. I find that grilling pizza just gives it that extra flavor.
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes
1 cup tomato & basil pizza sauce (homemade or store bought)
12-inch prebaked pizza crust
4 oz. fresh mozzarella cheese, thinly sliced
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Chopped fresh basil leaves (as many as your heart desires :)
Preheat Grill (higher the temp the better)
Evenly spread olive oil on one side of crust and place on grill, spread olive oil on other side and flip. Remove crust and evenly spread pizza sauce and top with cheese slices. Place pizza back on grill over medium heat and cover, rotating occasionally, 10 minutes, or until sauce is hot and cheese is melted. Drizzle with Olive Oil, sprinkle with basil and serve immediately.
From Boo's kitchen to yours, ENJOY!

Boo I am glad we are in the same group because I love recipes. I think I love to cook too, but because I have to do it so often it is losing some of its charm. Today the guys are riding in the mountains so my daughters and I had pizza for lunch very much like your recipe! What a coincidence! We used fresh basil and it definitely makes the recipe. I love to make tomato slices with a fresh slice of mozzarello on top and fresh basil. Next I drizzle olive oil with S& P and garlic over the top. Happy cooking!
ReplyDeleteI have another question for you, how did you end up in Missoula?
Hello Ladies, we all have something in common. I love to eat! I do NOT like to cook, but strangely enough, I have a collection of recipes. When I find one online, I email it to my yahoo account and I have them all saved in a folder. Perhaps this will motivate me to actually cook and not eat take-out!
ReplyDeleteOur class was in Butte this weekend and Kelly and I took in the National Folk Festival Saturday night. I felt like I was in Times Square; I have never seen so many people in the streets except when I was in NYC. We listened to wonderful music from throughout the world, and one of my favorites performances was a band called the Legendary Singing Stars from South Carolina! We ate Monkee Meat and Dippin' Dots. I am so happy I to hear and experience this cultural event!
ReplyDeleteI ended up in Missoula because my brother and his wife moved here from Michigan and when I was finished with my undergrad, they had a baby girl. I really wanted to be a close Auntie and I loved missoula so I moved : )
ReplyDeleteThis recipe is one my kids would actually eat. They don't put a lot of extras on their pizza and using the grill is a great idea. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI want to be in your group. LOL We generally avoid making homemade pizza because it takes so long and the cheese is so expensive. However, I really love my bread machine for making cheap pizza crusts. Prebake in the oven, top with sauce, meat and cheese; and presto! homemade pizza.
